For Au Pairs in the San Francisco, CA Area

California is a wonderful state with so much to offer. Whatever your interests and hobbies were back home, you will be able to continue with them here. This Au Pair USA cluster is in Northern California, about 6 hours drive from Los Angeles, or 1 hour flying. We do not have snow in the winter but a 4 hour drive will get you to Lake Tahoe where you can enjoy the snow and winter sports.

The ocean beaches and the mountains are both within easy driving distance; and of course, San Francisco itself offers culture and history. San Francisco is where you can go to the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf. Monterey is about 1 hour drive south, where you can see Pebble Beach, Monterey Aquarium and wonderful shops. Napa is known as "wine country" and you can enjoy tours of the wineries. Almost every sport is available here, with an emphasis on hiking, biking, running, and all sorts of ball games. (Football - San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders, Basketball - Golden State Warriors, Baseball - Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants, Hockey - San Jose Sharks)

We have a fairly large cluster and it is growing by the month, so you will have many opportunities to make new friends. Our monthly cluster meeting is always on a Sunday afternoon and I try to make it interesting and fun. We all get together to learn a new skill, get to know each other better and plan activities. We also have cluster social activities which include bowling, dinner, drive- in movies, swim parties, barbecues, museums and so on.
