Los Angeles and Ventura County, CA

Au Pair USA has several very active clusters of au pairs and host families in the Los Angeles area including Ventura and Orange Counties. Each month, Au Pair USA Local Coordinators work with host families, helping them with the matching process and answering their questions about the program. They also arrange monthly meetings and social events for au pairs to help them build friendships and adjust to life in the United States.

Your Au Pair USA Local Coordinator:

Patty Thomas

Patty's community of Au Pairs and Host Families is located in the Greater Los Angeles area, the San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita in California. Some of the communities in her area Malibu, Topanga, Canoga Park, Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, Burbank, Ventura and Simi Valley.

About Patty:

My name is Patricia (Patty) Thomas and for the next year I will be your Local Coordinator. I will be available to answer your questions, give you advice and help you to have a great experience in the United States. I will hold a meeting on the first Monday evening of every month, where you will be able to meet and get to know other au pairs in your area. I will also send a monthly newsletter to keep you updated on what is happening in our group and keep you informed about Au Pair USA policies. I look forward to meeting you and wish you a great year!

Let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Southern California and married in 1988. We have six children ranging in age from infant to college. I am active in school, church and community, serving in various capacities in the groups I am involved in. I will be able to draw from my experience with these organizations to plan fun and interesting cluster meetings and activities for us to do together. I love to travel and experience new people, places and cultures. Since I can’t travel as much as I’d like, I’m very excited to have some of the people and cultures of the world come to me!

During your time in the United States, I hope you make lifelong friends and that we all come away better people for having known each other.

Best wishes,

Patty

About Patty's Cluster:

  • There is truly something to please everyone here in southern California. The terrain ranges from mountains with snow in the winter to the sandy beaches California is so famous for, with rolling hills, valleys and desert in between.
  • In the Greater Los Angeles area, we have world class museums, restaurants, theaters and sporting venues, as well as attractions like Hollywood, Universal Studios, Disneyland and other theme parks. Because of our beautiful weather, all sports are available year round. You can even snow ski in winter in our local mountains.

  • Many cultures make this area their home and add flavor and excitement with ethnic restaurants, festivals and religious observations open to the community.
