Au Pair USA has a very active cluster of au pairs and host families in Denver Colorado and the surrounding areas of Denver, Boulder, Arapahoe, Adams, Jefferson and Douglas counties. Each month, Au Pair USA Local Coordinators work with host families, helping them with the matching process and answering their questions about the program. They also arrange monthly meetings and social events for au pairs to help them build friendships and adjust to life in the United States.

About Patti:

Hello, and welcome to the Denver, CO cluster of InterExchange Au Pair USA!

My name is Patti, and I have been a coordinator since March of 2000, and have greatly enjoyed working with wonderful host families and au pairs. On average, our cluster includes about 15 au pairs, living with host families scattered throughout the Denver area. I do my best to get to know everyone, and I’m always available to answer questions and help solve problems.

I very much enjoy the company of young people, since my own three children are grown up. I hold a bachelor’s degree from the College of Communications, University of Illinois, and have worked as a journalist, event planner, and newsletter editor. When I am not working as a coordinator, I am busy with volunteer activities and other interests, including gardening, interior design, and fitness. My husband and I also love to travel. We have visited many European countries, and are always ready for new adventures in foreign lands.

I am truly excited about sharing this new adventure with you, and hope to make this year in the USA the best year of your life! Feel free to contact me any time.

About Patti's Cluster:

  • Known as the "Mile High City," Denver, Colorado is indeed 5,280 feet above sea level. Some of the au pairs in our cluster are even higher, since they live with families in the nearby foothills, canyons, or mountains.

  • Due to our elevation, our climate is sunny and mild. We enjoy sunshine about 310 days per year.
  • We typically get 60-90 inches of snow during the winter, but when the sun comes out, the snow melts quickly. In the nearby Rocky Mountains, about an hour or more away, the ski areas normally get 300-350 inches of snow.

  • The Denver metropolitan area now includes more than 2 million people who enjoy nature, sports, and outdoor activities.

  • Since the area is so spread out, most au pairs drive cars provided by their host families.
