Boston, MA - Metrowest Suburbs

Au Pair USA has a very active cluster of au pairs and host families in Boston and the surrounding areas of Worcester, Middlesex and Norfolk counties. Each month, Au Pair USA Local Coordinators work with host families, helping them with the matching process and answering their questions about the program. They also arrange monthly meetings and social events for au pairs to help them build friendships and adjust to life in the United States.

About Adrienne:

Hello, and welcome to the Boston Metrowest cluster of InterExchange Au Pair USA!

My name is Adrienne Hindley and I will be your Local Coordinator. I cover the beautiful Boston Metrowest area. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My husband Scott and I live in Hudson and we have been involved with the program for 15 years as a host family as well as my being a coordinator. We have three boys, Alex age 17, Peter age 15 and Stephen age 12. Even after our last au pair departed a couple of years ago (as unfortunately my little boys grew up), I am still very involved as a coordinator as I love the program. We have had aupairs from many different countries and are still in touch with all of them today. We love the program and think it is a great opportunity to share our cultures.

For aupairs and host families – it is very exciting to share this incredible year together. For au pairs, the United States is full of exciting places and interesting people to meet as well as becoming part of an American family, sharing their joys, caring for their children and speaking their language. This is an incredible opportunity for host families as well to learn a new culture and welcome a caring “brother or sister” to help care for their children. Both aupairs and host families will learn a great deal about the USA and other countries, make wonderful new relationships and acquire an extended family all at the same time.

About Adrienne's Cluster:

  • Our cluster covers beautiful suburban towns west of the city of Boston. You really have to enjoy driving if you are out in our suburbs, as public transportation is limited.

  • Once in the city, there is a metro/subway (we call it the "T") that can take you almost anywhere you’d want to go.
  • The weather throughout the year is diverse. We have very warm springs and summers, but our winters can get very cold and snowy. Bring a warm, heavy jacket and be prepared to buy some snow boots!

  • We are very lucky to have a great group of aupairs. Everyone is very friendly and we all get along! Everyone remembers how difficult it was when they arrived and they will be happy to talk, go to the movies or include you in their activities.
