au pair host family nj new jersey

Charlotte, NC

Au Pair USA has a very active cluster of au pairs and host families in the Charlotte and Mecklenburg County area of North Carolina. Each month, Au Pair USA Local Coordinators work with host families, helping them with the matching process and answering their questions about the program. They also arrange monthly meetings and social events for au pairs to help them build friendships and adjust to life in the United States.

Your Au Pair USA Local Coordinator:

Kathy Lee

About Kathy:

My name is Kathy Lee and for the next year I wll be your Local Coordinator for Au Pair USA here in Charlotte. I will be available to answer your questions, give you advice and help make your year a great experience. To let you know a little about me I am from Charlotte….born and raised….. a native Charlottean. I have four children, three boys and a girl. The boys are grown with families and children of their own. Combined, I have 4 grandkids, all boys, from age 13 years to 4 weeks. Maggie, the youngest of my children, is a senior (again) at Appalachian State University studying International Human Relations…(I think).

At my house I have two cats, Ernest and Big Kitty, and a very large puppy, Bella. All were rescues so I have no idea as to pedigree. They don’t seem to mind though. In my spare time I love to cook, bake, garden and sew. Weather permitting, walking is something I like to do too.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year!

Best wishes,

Kathy

About Kathy's Cluster

  • Charlotte is a thriving city with lots of activities. We're only two hours drive from the Blue Ridge Mountains and three hours drive to the Atlantic Ocean. We're close to the border with South Carolina.
  • Charlotte is the 5th-fastest growing city in the U.S. You will soon notice that most people in Charlotte actually moved from another state, mostly from the Northeastern U.S.

  • We enjoy mild winters, with hot, humid summers. Drive north on I-77 during the month of November and the scenery of Lake Norman will take your breath away. You will find the people to be warm and exude a sense of charm with a dash of “Southern hospitality.”
