Raleigh/Durham and Chapel Hill, NC
Au Pair USA has a very active cluster of au pairs and host families in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina. Each month, Au Pair USA Local Coordinators work with host families, helping them with the matching process and answering their questions about the program. They also arrange monthly meetings and social events for au pairs to help them build friendships and adjust to life in the United States.
Your Au Pair USA Local Coordinator:
Lyria Boast
Lyria's community of au pairs and host families includes Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, and many more communities in central North Carolina.
About Lyria:
I became the local coordinator in our area in 2007 and love the opportunity to meet au pairs from all over the world. I have always loved to travel and think that it is important to learn about and experience other cultures. I’ve been lucky enough to visit Europe, Asia, Central America, the Caribbean, as well as most of the 50 United States!
I grew up in Florida, went to college in Massachusetts, and now live in North Carolina. My husband, Stokely, and I were married in 1990 and lived in the Boston area for fifteen more years, until moving to North Carolina in 2005 with our two daughters and standard poodle, Bingo.
We love North Carolina – the climate, the friendly and hospitable people, and the diverse communities. As the local coordinator for Au Pair USA, I have been privileged to meet and work with wonderful host families and au pairs. The au pairs in our cluster come from all over the world and are an exuberant group of young people! Our family is currently hosting an au pair from Spain. She is a loved and trusted member of our immediate family.
I am truly excited about sharing this new adventure with you. Feel free to contact me any time.
Best wishes,
Lyria
