Au Pair USA has several very active clusters of au pairs and host families in Northwest New Jersey including Hunterdon and Somerset County. Each month, Au Pair USA Local Coordinators work with host families, helping them with the matching process and answering their questions about the program. They also arrange monthly meetings and social events for au pairs to help them build friendships and adjust to life in the United States.

About Valli:

Hello! My name is Valli Murphy. I am very happy to welcome you to America, and to my community of au pairs and host families.

Prior to becoming a Local Coordinator for Au Pair USA, my professional background was in International Banking where I worked in Philadelphia for three years and in New York City for eight years. My major in college was International Relations, with concentrations in International Politics and Languages. My desire to study foreign cultures was cultivated at an early age while living and traveling with my family throughout Southern Europe.

My husband Peter is a professional photographer. We have two daughters and one son. Mariel was born September 1991, Haley was born in March 1994, and Luke was born in March 1996. We adore our children and spend as much time as possible enjoying life with them. I know personally how successful a cross-cultural relationship can be; while I was working in Manhattan we hosted two au pairs and shared wonderful relationships with them.

As an au pair, you will be able to do lots of fun things in your free time, and part of my job as a local coordinator is to organize social outings for au pairs to get to know eachother. I will be there to support you and your host family throughout the program. I am excited to help you both grow and prosper during your year in America.
