Each month, our Au Pair USA Local Coordinators arrange meetings and social events for au pairs. Recent events included:

 

 

Let’s go Knicks! Everyone really had fun at our last cluster meeting. We went to the famous Madison Square Garden to see the Knicks play (….and they won!!). The Knicks played against Detroit. We really liked seeing them play…and we enjoyed the pop corn! We joined other New York au pair clusters, so there were over 50 of us!

 

 

 

 

Visit to the “Summer White House” - Once again our cluster meeting was a winner! Everyone enjoyed visiting Roosevelt’s summer house (Sagamore Hill) in Oyster Bay. We did not have enough time to visit the museum, but some au pairs are thinking about going back later on. It would be fun for host families and au pairs to go back together. I sent a bunch of questions about “Roosevelt and Sagamore Hill” to the au pairs, and the au pairs wrote a short essay. The winning essay was published in our monthly cluster newsletter.

 

 

 

Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Picking - It was a beautiful (but cold!) day, but we had a lot of fun participating in the festival activities and picking out the pumpkins we would use for our Halloween Jack-O-Lanterns! We even had a pumpkin carving contest! First prize was a gift card for Starbucks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Holiday Party at Sullivan’s Quay restaurant in Port Washington, NY. Our December cluster meeting went really well and everyone had a wonderful time . It seems like everyone enjoyed their gift (I got everyone New York T-Shirts) and everyone ate a lot!!
