Long Island, NY
Au Pair USA has a very active cluster of au pairs and host families in the communities on Long Island, including many areas of Nassau, Suffolk and Queens County. Each month, Au Pair USA Local Coordinators work with host families, helping them with the matching process and answering their questions about the program. They also arrange monthly meetings and social events for au pairs to help them build friendships and adjust to life in the United States.

About Joanne:
Hello, my name is Joanne, and I have been a local coordinator with Au Pair USA since 1994. I am also a licensed N.Y.S. teacher and have taught grade school, kindergarten, and pre-school for many years.
In 1995, I became an instructor at the General Orientation Sessions for all Au Pairs entering the program. This has been an exciting, learning experience for me. Over the past several years, I have traveled throughout many of the countries that our Au Pairs come from, and have enjoyed the cultural benefits that I have learned about from the Au Pairs.
I currently live on Long Island with my husband. It has been a lovely area to have raised our two grown daughters. Being less than an hour from New York City gives the Au Pairs in the group varied cultural, entertainment and educational experiences. In the summer, Long Island provides some of the most beautiful beaches, parks and natural wonders in the country.
I look forward to meeting you.
Best wishes,
Joanne
