Philadelphia, PA
Au Pair USA has a very active cluster of au pairs and host families in eastern Pennsylvania, including the Philadelphia and Main Line area. Each month, Au Pair USA Local Coordinators work with host families, helping them with the matching process and answering their questions about the program. They also arrange monthly meetings and social events for au pairs to help them build friendships and adjust to life in the United States.

About Lisa:
Hello, and welcome to the Main Line Cluster of InterExchange Au Pair USA!
My husband Paul and I decided to be local coordinators because we have an Au Pair. We loved the program and thought it would be fun to be more involved. We have three children. A 13 year old girl and a 5 year old girl, who both love sports, animals, having fun and informal dancing. The youngest child in our family is a boy who is almost two. He loves Jay Jay the Jet plane, animals and of course Elmo. Because we have children in various age groups we have experienced many things as parents. We hope this will enable us to be great local coordinators.
I have worked in summer camps, youth centers, and organized ropes programs and done group counseling. In 1997 I received my Graduate degree as a Physician Assistant. Since then I have worked in Psychiatric hospitals, a Burns hospital, and for the last 5 + years in family practice with all age groups. Paul has traveled all over the world including to Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Persian Gulf as a military officer. He continues to work with other cultures in the USA for the United States Coast Guard. I have worked in medicine with many other cultures, some have been from the Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Greece, Scotland, Africa, as well as many Latino communities including people from Mexico, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Peru and the Dominican Republic to name a few. Between the two of us, we have a lot of cultural exchange experience and are aware of how rewarding this experience is.
Paul and I share many other interests. We are both avid readers; enjoy traveling (I must admit our favorite vacation is to Walt Disney World), going to the beach and especially being with our children.
As local coordinators, each month we will have a meeting so you can get to know the other au pairs in the area and provide you with cultural opportunities. I am available to answer any questions, give you advice, and help you enjoy your experience in the United States.
Best wishes,
Lisa
