Being an au pair is a special opportunity and the Au Pair USA program offers you the following valuable services and financial benefits.

  • Placement with a screened host family
  • Online Academy Training Program
  • Round-trip airfare to the USA
  • Support from amazing Local Coordinators
  • Accident and sickness insurance
  • J-1 visa sponsorship
  • 30 Days to travel upon program completion
  • Option to extend for 6, 9 or 12 months
  • Meals and a private room
  • A stipend of at least $195.75 per week from your host family

As an au pair, your responsibilities are limited to childcare and child-related tasks. You will be a member of your host family and should expect to help with some household tasks.

Do You Qualify to be an Au Pair?

To be considered for the program, you should be able to meet these requirements:

  • Love kids
  • Are 18-26 upon arrival
  • Be able to provide references
  • Provide a recent DBS certificate
  • Hold a British passport
  • Have recent childcare experience
  • Have completed secondary school
  • Have a full driver’s license
  • Are in good health
  • Commit to a year-long program

How We Support You

Local Coordinator and Au Pair

When you go to the USA, you are not alone. You will have a Local Coordinator who is committed to helping you have a successful experience and will be your first point of contact when you arrive.

Local Coordinator and Au Pair

Your Local Coordinator will:

  • Contact you during the first 48 hours after you arrive to your host family
  • Have an arrival orientation with you and your host family within the first two weeks
  • Speak with you and your host family on a monthly basis
  • Organize monthly social and cultural events for you and other au pairs
  • Answer your questions and provide support when you need it
