Welcome to the Au Pair USA New York Experience
Your Au Pair USA adventure begins before you even meet your host family! Starting April 14, 2026, all Au Pair USA participants can take part in our special 3-day New York Experience, a welcome program in the New York City area designed to help you have a great start to your year in the United States. You'll meet other au pairs, make friends, and learn what to expect during your first weeks with your host family. You'll also get practical tips to help you succeed on the Au Pair USA program. The New York Experience is a fun, informative, and supportive way to begin your program year.
What's included:
Accommodations: You will stay two nights in a popular hotel in the New York City area. You will share a large room with another au pair. Each room has two queen-size beds.
Preparation Workshops: You'll take part in interactive workshops designed to help you succeed as an au pair, understand American culture, and feel confident in your new role.
New York City Tour: You'll take part in a private small bus tour of iconic New York City landmarks with a professional tour guide. From Central Park and Times Square to views of the Statue of Liberty, you'll have the chance to truly experience this amazing American city.
Meals Included: You will be provided with delicious meals during your stay, including dinner on Tuesday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Wednesday, and breakfast on Thursday. Additional food and drinks are available for purchase at the hotel.
Welcome Gift: Receive a special welcome gift from Au Pair USA upon arrival to the hotel!

How It Works

Tuesday
All au pairs will fly into Newark Airport on the Tuesday of an arrival week. A free shuttle bus will bring you directly to the arrival hotel for check-in. You'll meet the Au Pair USA staff and other au pairs at the welcome session and dinner.

Wednesday
A private tour bus will pick everyone up at the hotel and take you to New York City for an all-day guided tour of some of the most famous sights in Manhattan and beyond.

Thursday
Time to meet your Host Family! You'll continue traveling to your host family's local airport. Au Pair USA staff will be there to answer your questions and help make sure you arrive safely at your final destination.
