Our Au Pairs

InterExchange is proud to place au pairs from over 25 countries. Aged 18 to 26, our au pairs are motivated by their love of working with children and their desire to experience living in the U.S. They are eager to use their previous childcare experience while living with your family. You’ll have peace of mind knowing that your au pair has completed an extensive application, interview, and background check process to participate in the program.

What Do Au Pairs Do?

Your au pair can be scheduled to provide childcare up to 45 hours per week, for no more than ten hours a day. They can be responsible for a variety of child-related tasks to keep your kids happy, healthy and your family running smoothly.

Our au pairs already have the experience and motivation they need to be successful. Still, we build on this knowledge to ensure your au pair arrives prepared and ready to get off to a great start.

Au Pairs complete the Au Pair USA Online Academy before departing their home country. We use a variety of training methods including live sessions, videos, online courses, and offline activities. We cover a variety of important topics including:

  • Child Development for All Ages
  • CPR and First Aid Training
  • American Culture and Communication
  • Life as an Au Pair
  • Driving in the U.S.
  • Personal Safety

Your au pair will complete an online CPR and First Aid Training based on American Heart Association guidelines and will receive a certificate valid for two years. The Online Academy meets the U.S. Department of State’s 32-hour training requirement.
